The Blue T Panthers Baby Pee Wee Cheerleading Squad

We are proud to announce that our featured organization for November 2002 is the Blue T Panthers Baby Pee Wee Cheerleading squad from Oklahoma! The group, under the leadership of Jani Croley, is made up of fourteen 3rd and 4th graders from two neighboring elementary schools. The elementary schools in their part of town do not have school organized sports so an organization was formed in the mid 1900's to allow the kids to participate in football and wrestling against other public school teams in the area. These teams, including the Blue T Cheerleading squad, are not supported in any way by the school system. Therefore, according to Jani, "all of our expenses are solely the responsibility of the parents." Some of these expenses include uniforms, accessories, camps, competitions, and transportation.
All of the football games the girls cheer for are held on Saturday evenings at 5:30 - and during this time of year it gets pretty cold. In Jani's words, "our girls have to try to cheer when they would rather cuddle up with mom or dad and stay warm." So the group decided to raise money to buy waterproof, lined, monogrammed wind suits for each of the girls.
To achieve this goal, Jani and the girls decided to sell Jack Link's Jumbo Jacks beef sticks from FundRaising.Com. In a span of just over 5 weeks, the girls managed to sell 5 master cases, raising $940! Within just three weeks of receiving their first order, they were able to place the order for their wind suits!
How did they do this? They sold the beef sticks at football games, door-to-door, at the local fire stations, at a bowling alley, at their homecoming parade and at their parents' work. Jani's own daughter sold 244 beef sticks herself and another girl sold 280! "[The beef sticks] have practically been selling themselves. It is amazing how it has taken so little effort to sell them. I never dreamed when we started that we would have made as much money as we have," Jani happily told us.
The girls' plan is to continue selling the beef sticks until the end of this football season, and then start selling them again next spring after the tryouts for next year's squad. Jani has ambitious fundraising goals for next season as well. She tells us she is "hoping next season we will be able to do enough of your fundraisers to finance our entire season without the parents having to contribute any of their own money." It's a goal all of us at FundRaising.Com are happy to be a part of.
Congratulations, Jani and all the girls of the Blue T Panthers Baby Pee Wee Cheerleading squad! We are proud to have you as a valued customer!
