Fundraising Ideas for April

There's a themed day for just about everything, and in the month of April there are tons of special days that could make for great fundraisers. If you're planning on organizing a fundraiser this April, here are just a few special themes which you could take advantage of to raise money for your fundraising cause.

Decorating Month

April is Decorating Month. It was created to inspire people to work on projects at home that make their living spaces feel more personal and comfortable. From painting the walls, to hanging pictures, to rearranging furniture for better use of space, there are all sorts of things you can do to spruce up the home. If you're good with your hands, or if you have a flair for design, you could offer home decoration services, or get your DIY hat on and create some decorations and sell them to raise money for your cause.

Garden Month

April marks the debut of spring, so it's also Garden Month. With the weather warming up and trees starting to bloom, April is the best time to start getting the garden ready for the coming season. For a Garden Month fundraiser you could try selling seeds or bulbs, or, if you don't mind a little hard work, you could offer landscaping services to help people get their gardens ready for planting. If you've got a green thumb, a Garden Month fundraiser could be the perfect thing.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

PB n' J sandwiches are a childhood staple. Simple and delicious, just about everyone has fond memories of devouring this simple sandwich. As it turns out, April 2 is Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, and it's easy to see how this lends itself to a fundraising idea. Offer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a $1 at your local church, school, or sports arena. You can find everything you need at any grocery store, so a peanut butter and jelly fundraiser is a cheap and easy one to put together. Be aware of potential allergies though!

World Health Day

Every year on April 7 we celebrate World Health Day. It marks the founding of the World Health Organization, and every year there's a different theme. Local governments often get involved with this noble cause, and you can too with a healthy fundraiser. You could offer a discounted rate on gym memberships, host a seminar on healthy living, organize a fitness class, sell health supplements, or teach a yoga class. These days, many people are more health-conscious than ever so you can win big with a World Health Day fundraiser.

Earth Day

Environmental issues are also at the forefront of many people's minds today, and on April 22 we celebrate Earth Day. It's an occasion to reflect on the state of our environment and what we can do to protect it, but how do you turn this into a fundraising occasion? One relatively easy fundraiser is to sell energy efficient light bulbs. They are more environmentally friendly, because they use so much less electricity than incandescent bulbs, besides helping to reduce your utility bill. That's a strong selling point, and a good way to launch an Earth Day fundraiser.

Every day of the month has multiple special themes, you can always find something fun! Fundraising can happen any day of the year.
